Mavericks Defeat Timberwolves to Advance
The Dallas Mavericks punched their ticket to the NBA Finals on Thursday night with a resounding 124-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with a dominant performance, scoring 26 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out 7 assists. The German sharpshooter was a force on both ends of the court, leading the team in scoring and setting up his teammates for easy baskets.
With the victory, the Mavericks claimed their second Western Conference Championship in franchise history and earned a berth in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011.
The Mavericks will face the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, which begin on June 6th. The Celtics defeated the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals to earn their first trip to the Finals since 2010.
