Thunderbirds Are Go! Movie Adaptation in the Works

British sci-fi classic to get big-screen treatment

Film will combine live-action and CGI

A movie adaptation of the classic British sci-fi TV series Thunderbirds is in the works from ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures. The film will combine live-action and computer-generated imagery (CGI) to bring the iconic characters and vehicles to life on the big screen. The original Thunderbirds series was created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and first aired in 1965. The show follows the adventures of the Tracy family, who operate International Rescue, a secret organization that uses its advanced technology to save lives around the world. The new movie will be directed by Richard Taylor, who has previously worked on The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong. The script is being written by Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rasmus Hardiker, and David Menkin. No release date has been announced yet, but the film is expected to hit theaters in 2023.
