Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that Inter Milan have one player that could beat Rodri to the Ballon d’Or.

Guardiola was speaking after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Inter in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Barella was in impressive form for Inter against Manchester City

Inter’s Nicolo Barella was in impressive form against City, and Guardiola was full of praise for the Italian midfielder after the game.

"Barella is an exceptional player," said Guardiola. "He's one of the best midfielders in the world right now."

"He's got everything you need in a midfielder – he can pass, he can dribble, he can tackle.

He's also very intelligent and reads the game well.

“For me, he could be one of the contenders for the Ballon d'Or in the future."

Barella has been in excellent form for Inter this season, and he has played a key role in the club’s success so far.

The 19-year-old has scored four goals and provided six assists in all competitions this season.

He has also been impressive for Italy, and he was part of the squad that won the European Championship in 2021.
