Snooker Icon Mourns the Loss of His 'Son'

Ray Reardon, the legendary snooker player and coach, passed away on Friday at the age of 91.

Known for his distinctive "Dracula" hairline, Reardon was a beloved figure in the sport, both as a player and a mentor. He coached many modern snooker stars, including the legendary Ronnie O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan has paid a heartfelt tribute to his former coach, describing him as a "father figure" and crediting him with helping him win his seventh world title. In a resurfaced interview, Reardon made a heartbreaking admission to O'Sullivan before the latter's title win, saying, "I'm just so proud of you, son."

O'Sullivan spoke to Eurosport about his close relationship with Reardon, saying, "He was like a father figure to me. He always believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself."
